Last month, Nokia announced its X6 smartphone in China, which is the first device by the company to feature a ‘notched’ display. The handset sports the model number TA-1099 and is currently available only in China as it’s yet to be announced globally. Now, as per DealNTech, a device with model number TA-1103 has been spotted on the National Communications Commission (NCC) certification website of Taiwan, which suggests that a global variant of the smartphone might be on the way. The same handset was previously spotted on Bluetooth certification website as well.
If there is a global variant of the smartphone, we speculate that it could be renamed or rebranded. This is what happened with the Nokia 6 that was launched as a China exclusive but later the company also announced the Nokia 6.1, which was made available globally. HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas conducted a poll on Twitter last month where he asked users whether or not the Nokia X6 should be introduced in other markets. The poll ended with 92 percent of users voting for a global launch of the smartphone.
