Motorola launched the Moto E5 Plus in June in India and the Moto Z3 Play in July in the US. Now the phones may soon be unveiled in China as they have reportedly passed the Chinese certification process and were seen listed on the TENAA website. However, there is a difference in the specifications of both the smartphones listed on TENAA. The specifications of the models listed on the website are different from the specs of the ones that were launched in India and US.
Moto Z3 Play: According to the listing, the Moto Z3 Play will be powered by a Snapdragon 660 processor instead of a Snapdragon 636 SoC. The battery is has been increased from 3,000 mAh to 3,300 mAh. The rest of the hardware is likely to remain the same. The Lenovo-owned brand expanded its Z lineup with the Moto Z3 Play earlier this month. The phone features pogo pins on the rear for attaching Moto Mods and a dual-camera setup. The setup has one 12MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture and the other is a 5MP lens with depth-sensing capabilities. On the front is an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture lens. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the side.
Globally, the Moto Z3 Play is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB storage options. It features a bigger 6.01-inch Super AMOLED display with 2160 x 1080p resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The Moto Z3 Play is packs a 3,000mAh battery that supports fast charging.
Moto E5 Plus: The Indian variant of Moto E5 Plus (First Impressions) is powered by a Snapdragon 430 SoC. It has a 6-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and a 1440x720p resolution. The device has a 5,000mAh battery, which also supports Rapid Charging technology. In the optics department, the phone has a 12MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. It has another casing which actually gives an impression of a second camera, however, it has sensor for PDAF and laser Auto Focus. On the front, there is an 8MP camera with f/2.2 aperture. It comes with 3GB RAM, coupled with 32GB of internal storage.
For the Chinese variant, the listing shows a smaller battery, that is, 4,850 mAh instead of 5,000 mAh. The company will reportedly offered three variants: 3GB/32GB storage, 4GB/128GB storage and 6GB/128GB storage models.
