Moto G6, G6 Plus official teaser video, leaked case renders show dual rear cameras and 18:9 display
HIGHLIGHTS

Motorola UK tweeted out a teaser video revealing some juicy bits of information about the upcoming Moto G6 and the Moto G6 Plus. Leaked case renders of the smartphones also revealed 18:9 displays.

The Moto G6 and the G6 Plus leaked case renders reveal that the two upcoming smartphones from Motorola will have an 18:9 display and dual cameras on the rear. The cases made by Olixar are listed on Mobile Fun, a Brazilian online retailer. The listing page for the Moto G6, G6 Plus cases reveales that stock is expected in 3-5 days, in line with the April 19 launch date of the phones.  If the case listing wasn’t enough, Motorola UK released a teaser video on Twitter showing some of the physical attributes of the upcoming Moto G6. The phone is scheduled for an April 19 launch and is eagerly awaited by fans, so the video only adds more fuel to the hype around the phone. The tweet containing the video has since been removed, but not before copies of it made their way onto YouTube. In the video, there are a few interesting revelations about the upcoming phone.

Firstly, it isn’t confirmed whether the phone in the official teaser video is the Moto G6 or the Moto G6 Plus. The smartphone in the video shows a dual camera setup, indicating that it could be either of the two phones. The front is shown to have a fingerprint sensor which is rectangular in shape with rounded edges. The fingerprint sensor appears to be more elongated than the ones we have seen on the Moto Z2 Force, but it could just be the shape being distorted by the angle of the render. We also see side buttons, the volume rocker with a smooth finish and the power button with ridged edges. Perhaps the most notable discovery from the video is in the way the smartphone is designed, with a curved back, closely resembling the Samsung flagships.

The Moto teaser video does not reveal anything about the hardware specifications of the phone, only showing off its cosmetic aspects. Previous rumours have suggested that the Moto G6 will sport an 18:9 FHD+ (1080×2160) display. It is rumoured to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor mated to 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage. The Moto G6 Plus on the other hand not only be slightly bigger with a 5.93-inch display but also more powerful thanks to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. The phone will have 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Incidentally, both the smartphones are rumoured to sport 16-megapixel dual cameras on the back, with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Earlier, potential pricing for the Moto G6, G6 Plus and the G6 Play had leaked as well.
