Moto E5 gets Bluetooth certified, expected to launch soon

Moto E5 gets Bluetooth certified, expected to launch soon
HIGHLIGHTS

The Moto E5 is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, sport a 4000mAh battery and is expected to look a lot like its predecessor

If information circulating the internet is to be believed, then Motorola’s budget smartphone offering, the Moto E5 is expected to launch soon. The E5 has already received FCC approval and if information on the internet is to be believed, then the device has received its Bluetooth certification as well. The smartphone is listed with three different model numbers – XT1922, XT1924 and XT1944. Whether these model numbers represent various storage and RAM variants of the Moto E5 or represent the various regions in which the device will launch is not yet confirmed.

The Bluetooth listing describes Moto E5 as "Qualcomm BT Host SW." This means that the Moto E5 packs a Qualcomm processor. It isn’t clear which chipset powers the device. The FCC listing says that the Moto E5 will pack in a 4,000mAh battery. This is larger than the 2800mAh battery housed in the unit on the Moto E4.

Coming to the design, it is expected that the Moto E5 will have a design reminiscent of the Moto E4. However, to house the larger battery, we think the device may be thicker than its predecessor. We can expect some signature designs on the Moto E5 including the “M” dimple at the back below the camera. It also isn’t clear whether the smartphone will be showcased at MWC 2018. Motorola is also expected to unveil its G6 family of smartphones at MWC 2018.

Motorola recently launched a 6GB RAM variant of the Moto X4 smartphone. You can read our review of the smartphone here
