Meizu 15 Lite, 15 and 15 Plus smartphones with 16:9 display, 20MP front camera launched in China
The three smartphones are running on Meizu’s Flyme 7 OS, feature 16:9 display aspect ratio and come with a 3.5mm audio jack.
Meizu has launched its Meizu 15, Meizu 15 Plus and the Meizu 15 Lite smartphones in China, celebrating the company’s 15th anniversary. All three devices go against the current trend of sporting 18:9 display as they come with a regular 16:9 display. They all come with a USB Type-C port but only the Meizu 15 and the Meizu 15 Plus feature a vertically stacked dual-rear camera setup.The Meizu 15 Lite comes with a single rear camera. The Meizu 15 and the Meizu 15 Plus will be available in China starting April 29, but the Meizu 15 Lite will reportedly not be available in China.
The 6GB RAM/ 64GB ROM variant of the Meizu 15 Plus costs CNY 2,999 (Rs 31,600 approx), whereas its 6GB RAM/128GB storage model is priced at CNY 3,299 (Rs 34,800 approx). The standard Meizu 15 also comes in two variants, both with 4GB RAM and options for 64GB and 128GB storage, which are priced at CNY 2,499 (Rs 26,100 approx) and CNY 2,799 (Rs 29,500 approx). The Meizu 15 Lite comes in only one 4GB RAM/64GB internal storage variant and is priced at CNY 1,699 (Rs 17,900 approx).
The three phones run on company’s Flyme 7 OS and come with a fingerprint scanner on the front. The Meizu 15 Lite features a 5.46-inch full-HD LCD display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 SoC. The Meizu 15 sports a 5.46-inch full-HD OLED screen and is powered by the Snapdragon 660 chipset. The Plus variant is running on the Samsung Exynos 8895 processor and is equipped with a 5.95-inch 2K OLED display. The Meizu 15 Lite and the Meizu 15 pack a 3000mAh battery, whereas the Meizu M15 Plus comes with a slightly larger 3500mAh battery.
In the camera department, the Meizu 15 Lite features a single 12MP rear camera whereas both the Meizu 15 and the Meizu 15 plus are equipped with a dual 12MP + 20MP rear camera setup. All the three models sport a 20MP sensor on the front.
The company previously launched the Meizu M6s smartphone in its home country. It features a thin-bezel design and comes with a fingerprint sensor placed on the side edge, similar to the Razer Phone and many Sony Xperia smartphones. The Meizu M6s is powered by a Hexa-core Samsung Exynos 7872 chipset and sports a 5.7-inch HD+ display with a 1440×720p resolution. The dual-SIM smartphone is backed by a 3000mAh battery and runs on Flyme OS 6.2 on top of Android 7.1.2 Nougat.
The Meizu M6s is equipped with a single 16MP rear camera setup with Samsung CMOS sensor and a f/2.0 aperture lens. On the front, it comes with an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture lens. You can learn more about the device here.
