Leaks of smartphones are no new thing, especially when they are of an upcoming (alleged) Apple products. Recently a video surfaced online on China’s microblogging site Weibo showcasing an alleged iPhone SE 2. Going by the video the showcased phone sports the popular notch. The sides of the phone are flat, which is a distinguishing trait of the older iPhone SE. It has been almost two years since Apple launched the SE and in fact, noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had said the refreshed iPhone SE will retain the size and dimensions of its predecessor but will miss out on FaceID.

The video showcases a working device with iOS-like interface featuring a dual real camera setup within a similar vertical camera bump as the iPhone X. The phone shown in the video has an edge to edge display with thin bezels and a notch on top. The front also loses the Touch ID fingerprint scanner. However, the video does not give us a proper glimpse at the back of the phone which may or may not have a fingerprint sensor.

While some media publications seem doubtful about the video and its authenticity, blogs like AppleInsider and 9to5Mac have completely deemed this as bogus. According to 9to5Mac, the phone in the video is a “cleverly crafted Android phone decked out to look like the real deal”, which is not entirely impossible. AppleInsider, on the other hand, says, that the phone seems to have a similarly sized notch as the iPhone X and the squarish sides might just be a case.

Previous reports suggest that there is one iPhone SE 2 in the works featuring Apple A10 chip, which might be coupled with 2GB RAM. it could be available in 32GB and 128GB variants. The original iPhone SE was a really popular phone in India, due to its affordable price tag.
