iPhone Fold may arrive with a bigger battery than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Fold 8
iPhone Fold may use a 5,400 to 5,800 mAh battery, larger than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the expected Fold 8.
Apple is reportedly testing a 5,800 mAh option to offer longer battery life than Samsung’s foldables.
Early leaks point to a compact design, dual 48 MP cameras, a reduced-crease display, and a 24 MP under-display selfie camera.
iPhone Fold is back in the spotlight after a fresh leak from a Korean tipster. The new report suggests that Apple is testing a significantly larger battery for its first foldable device, with capacities said to range between 5,400 mAh and 5,800 mAh. If accurate, this would give the iPhone Fold a clear advantage over Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, which comes with a battery pack of 4,400 mAh. The leak also claims Apple’s battery could surpass even the rumoured Galaxy Z Fold 8, which is tipped to exceed 5,000 mAh but still lacks confirmed details.

iPhone Fold battery leaks and rumours
Korean blogger Yeux1122 claims Apple is leaning toward the 5,800 mAh option even if it results in a slightly thicker or heavier device. This would mark a significant shift from Samsung’s Fold lineup, which has largely maintained similar battery capacities since the first Galaxy Fold in 2019. If the leaked numbers hold up, the iPhone Fold could deliver noticeably longer usage between charges.
Samsung is reportedly preparing the Galaxy Z Fold 8 for next year. While the Fold 7 retains its current battery size of 4,400 mAh, the Fold 8 may finally cross the 5,000 mAh mark. Even so, Apple’s tested range appears higher, suggesting that the company may be aiming to secure a strong entry into the foldable market by offering superior battery life from day one.

iPhone Fold expected features
Apart from the battery, early information hints at a compact shape similar to foldables like the OPPO Find N. The device is also said to carry a dual 48 MP rear camera setup and a display that tries to reduce the visible crease. There is also talk of a 24 MP under-display selfie camera. None of these details are confirmed but show the direction Apple might be exploring.

While the Cupertino giant has not yet shared any official details about its foldable plans, the company is known for long development cycles. Therefore, we should only interpret these leaks as early hints rather than confirmed information. We anticipate more reports in the coming months as the testing continues.
