Huawei, the leading Chinese smartphone maker is set to launch its flagship Mate 10 series later today. The company is widely anticipated to launch three devices - Mate 10 Pro, regular Mate 10 and Mate 10 Lite - at an event in Munich. All the three devices are said to feature new bezel-less design and sport a display with taller 18:9 aspect ratio.
While all three models have leaked in the form of renders and live images in the past, Evan Blass has now tweeted another render of Mate 10 Lite. The Mate 10 Lite is expected to be the cheapest offering in the Mate 10 Series. The render clearly shows it will sport a design similar to recently launched Honor 9i with thinner top and bottom bezels and four cameras. The Huawei Mate 10 Lite is expected to sport a 5.9-inch display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The smartphone is expected to be powered by company's octa-core Kirin 659 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. There will be dual front and rear camera setup as well.
The front and rear will sport a 13MP and 16MP primary sensors respectively coupled with a secondary 2MP sensor for producing bokeh effect and selfies with shallow depth of field. The smartphone will be backed by a 3340mAh battery. The specifications are similar to company's Maimang 6, another entry-level smartphone, which was launched last month in China. The Mate 10 Lite is expected to start shipping a month later and retail for €379 (around Rs 29,000) in blue, black and gold colours.
Ahead of the official announcement, the pricing of all three models has surfaced online. According to GizmoChina, the Mate 10 will launch with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and retail for €599 (around Rs 46,000) while Mate 10 Pro with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage will be priced at €799 (around Rs 61,000). The Mate 10 Porsche Edition is said to launch with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage and will be priced at €1199 (around Rs 92,000), making it the direct competitor to iPhone X and Galaxy Note8.
