HTC Rezound with Beats Audio unveiled, with 1280×720 pixel display

HTC has unveiled a new Beats Audio phone, the HTC Rezound, running on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread. For now, the device is a CDMA/LTE one that is exclusive to Verizon Wireless, a popular U.S. carrier. We expect a GSM version to make its way around the world at some point. While the device on the surface seems very similar to the HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio (available in India for Rs. 34,500), it has some interestingly different specifications that make it stand out.

The first of these is the display, while the HTC Rezound and HTC Sensation XE both have 4.3-inch S-LCD touchscreens, the Rezound has an astounding 1280×720 pixel resolution, as compared to the Sensation XE’s 960×540 (qHD) resolution. While it has the same 1.5GHz dual-core Scorpion processor and Adreno 220 GPU as the Sensation XE, it sports 1GB of RAM instead of the XE’s 768MB.

Common specifications include Sense 3.5 UI, an 8MP autofocus camera with dual-LED flash, 1080p HD video recording, microUSB/TV-out via MHL link, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with DLNA and hotspot support,Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, Beats Audio enhancement, Beats Audio headset, stereo FM with RDS, GPS with A-GPS support, and a bundled document viewer.
