The company has sent invites for an event to be held in Japan; rumoured to launch the HTC Aero A9 and Butterfly 3.

HTC has started sending out invites for an event to be held on September 29 in Hakone, Japan. The invitation was spotted on Weibo, and has the number '2' written in Roman numerals, along with two mountains. It seems like the company will be launching two new devices at the event, which are expected to be HTC Aero A9 and Butterfly 3.

The first device, Aero A9, is rumoured to be the same “hero product” which was announced by HTC CEO Cher Wang earlier. The smartphone is tipped to come with 5.5-inch Quad HD display. It may be running on the deca-core Helio X20 chipset with 4GB of RAM. The phone is expected to come with 3500mAh battery. In a recent image leak, the device was shown alongside the iPhone 6, featuring an almost similar design. The second device, Butterfly 3, is expected to be the global version of the HTC J Butterfly. It is expected to come with a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM and 2700mAh battery. It has a 20.2MP rear and 13MP front cameras, with internal storage capacity of 32GB. The users can expand the storage up to 200GB with a microSD card. It was announced in Japan, earlier this year.

The upcoming devices will prove to be crucial for HTC, after receiving poor response to HTC One M9. The company’s share prices dropped by almost fifty percent, after its dismal performance in the smartphone market. It was also criticised for its poor camera performance, when compared to the iPhone 6 and LG G4. Meanwhile, Google is also expected to release its upcoming Nexus devices on the same date, September 29. Although nothing has been confirmed, this might have deeper implications on how HTC's upcoming devices might fare in the market.
