Honor 8X was launched in China in September and the company is now readying to unveil the smartphone in different markets across the globe. In India, the handset will launch on October 16 and now several reports claim that the Honor 8X will be an Amazon-exclusive in the country. Amazon is expected to be the single online retailer that will sell the handset.

The company confirmed the India launch date at an event in Dubai, followed by media invites for the India launch. Honor says that the smartphone will be placed in the mid-range mobile segment in the country. The Honor 8X is powered by a 64-bit Octa-core Kirin 710 processor clocked at 2.2GHz. The Kirin 710 is Cortex 73 based System on Chip (SoC) manufactured using 12nm process. The company claims that the CPU’s performance has increased 75 percent when compared to the Kirin 659, and is supported by Mali G51 GPU.

Honor 8X will also come with GPU Turbo Technology, which the company claims accelerates the graphics processing by 60 percent, optimises the mobile gaming experience and at the same time, reduces the power consumption by 30 percent. According to Honor, the technology along with the Kirin 710 SoC and Mali G51 MP4 GPU, gets a 130 percent performance increase compared to previous generation. The handset runs on Honor’s EMUI 8.2 user interface based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

Honor 8X has 128GB on-board storage and supports an expandable microSD card up to 400GB. There are three card slots: two for the SIM cards and a dedicated one for the MicroSD card. This phone is offered in three variants: 4GB RAM + 64GB of internal storage, 6GB RAM + 64GB and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. Honor 8X has a 3750mAh battery that ships with Intelligent Power Saving technology. Honor says that the technology increases the battery life by 33 percent.
