BlackBerry 10 leaks keep on coming; X10 pictures shared on Instagram
HIGHLIGHTS

BlackBerry 10 smartphones run the risk of beating the iPhone 5 as the "worst kept secret". The new leaks include someone putting up the X10 pics on Instagram, and an Austrian website posting a hands-on video of the Z10.

It’s been one leak after the other, reminding us of 2012 when the Apple iPhone 5 turned up as the worst kept secret. It was almost a feeling of “we have seen it all already” when Apple officially unveiled the iPhone. Now, Research In Motion runs the risk of the same lukewarm reception for their critical BB10 smartphones, which are due for official launch towards the end of this month.

First up, the popular CrackBerry forum first posted some images at a user had shared via Instagram, showing off the X10, or the N-Series as it is popularly known. This is the phone that follows up with the most important BlackBerry asset – the QWERTY keyboard. The design seems to be fairly similar to the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900, currently the flagship phone, with the same premise of offering a touchscreen with a physical keypad. The difference though is the omission of the optical trackpad, to put more emphasis on the touchscreen.

In the meantime, Austrian website Telekom-Presse has done what is essentially a hands-on video of the Z10, popularly known as the L-series. According to the video, the Z10 gets the power from a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM and has 16GB internal storage. The earlier rumors had pegged the display size at 4.3-inches for this all-touch device, but the voice-over on the video seems to suggest that it is actually 4.2-inches. The website has also put up a lot of pictures of the device and the interface, and even some test pictures from the device’s camera.

These leaks come not long after RIM got the double dose of good news, when share prices went up the last couple of days, and developers submitted 15,000 apps in less than 2 days.
