Apple’s iPhone Ultra may cost over Rs 2 lakh, can come with 2TB storage and A20 Pro chip

Apple’s first foldable iPhone can be one of the biggest launches this year and possibly the most expensive smartphone yet. According to the report from TrendForce, the iPhone Ultra aka iPhone Fold is said to be priced above $2,000. The report also talked about the possible specifications including dual OLED panel, Apple’s next generation A20 Pro chip and 2TB storage. For the unversed, the iPhone Ultra is said to make its debut on September 9 at the Surprise and Shine event along with iPhone 18 Pro series.

iPhone Ultra specifications

According to the report, Apple’s foldable iPhone may feature a 5.5-inch OLED display on the outside and a larger 7.8-inch OLED screen when unfolded. The internal display is expected to support a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate.

The phone is also tipped to use Apple’s upcoming A20 Pro chipset, reportedly manufactured using TSMC’s 2nm process. The new processor can bring improvements in performance and power efficiency, particularly for Apple Intelligence and other AI-related tasks.

Apple may equip the foldable with 12GB of RAM and offer storage options ranging from 256GB to 2TB. The camera setup might include two 48MP rear sensors along with a 24MP front camera. Interestingly, the foldable is rumoured to use Touch ID instead of Face ID. However, the details are not confirmed at the moment.

iPhone Ultra price in India

TrendForce estimates that Apple’s first foldable could start at $2,099, which is roughly Rs 1.98 lakh. Higher configurations may cost around $2,299 (approximately Rs 2.17 lakh), while a top-end model with higher storage could reportedly cross the $3,000 mark.

But, so far the actual Indian price can be considerably higher after implementing the taxes. Also, do note that Apple has not officially confirmed the existence, name, specifications or pricing of its foldable iPhone yet.
