Samsung’s AI game on the move: Announced Live Call Translate for the Galaxy S24
The South Korean tech brand announced its plans with Galaxy AI smartphones today.
This Samsung AI will utilise both self-developed on-device AI and collaborative cloud-based AI.
Samsung even gave us a hint of what to expect from the upcoming Galaxy AI by hinting at one of its features.
I just recently spoke about Samsung’s AI module called the Samsung Gauss. It consisted of three things, Samsung Gauss Language, Samsung Gauss Code, and Samsung Gauss Image. But we didn’t know when Samsung plans on releasing them. Well now, Samsung has shared its plans with the Gauss Language Model. Let’s find out more.
The South Korean tech brand announced its plans with Galaxy AI smartphones today asserting its spot in the generative AI race. Through a press release, Samsung said that some of the most impressive features of AI modules are yet to be released in the mobile space. It further added that there was no better one than Samsung Galaxy devices to use these features to their best potential.

Saying this, Samsung announced the Galaxy AI mobile. This AI experience is powered by its in-house Gauss Language Module. This Samsung AI will utilise both self-developed on-device AI and collaborative cloud-based AI. According to the company, this would “transform your everyday mobile experience with the peace of mind you count on from Galaxy security and privacy.”
Wonjoon Choi, EVP and Head of R&D, Mobile eXperience Business said, “Mobile technology has an incredible power to enable connection, productivity, creativity, and more for people around the world, but until now, we haven’t seen mobile AI ignite that in truly meaningful ways.” He further added, “Galaxy AI is our most comprehensive intelligence offering to date, and it will change how we think about our phones forever.”

That’s not all, Samsung even gave us a hint of what to expect from the upcoming Galaxy AI by hinting at one of its features. The company calls it the AI Live Translate Call. This will allow Galaxy users to access audio and text translations in real-time during the phone call via Samsung’s native phone app.
Samsung will most likely release the AI features with the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, so most probably in January 2024.
