Speaking at a SpaceX facility in Texas, Musk shared his long-term vision for space travel and human exploration beyond Earth. According to him, the purpose of SpaceX is not just to build rockets but to help humanity become a spacefaring civilisation. Musk told the audience that ideas once seen only in movies and television can turn into real achievements with time and effort. His remarks came just days before the release of a new Star Trek series, making his comments even more relevant to pop culture and space fans alike.

During his speech, Musk said that SpaceX wants to build big spaceships that can carry many people to space. He further added that the goal is to help humans travel to the Moon, Mars, and one day even farther to other planets. He said curiosity should push humans to keep moving forward, even when we do not know what will happen. People might one day find alien life or signs of old civilisations, but the most important thing is being brave enough to explore. Musk also talked about Starfleet Academy from Star Trek. Musk also added that he hopes ideas like this can become real in the future, not just stories. He believes space travel should not be only for trained astronauts but also for regular people who want to explore new worlds.
The event took place at Starbase, Texas, a city developed around SpaceX’s rocket production centre. Musk described the area as a city built from nothing that has now become a major manufacturing hub. He said the facility shows how important large-scale production is for the country’s future. Musk added that Starbase is open to the public and can be visited by anyone interested in seeing real spacecraft up close.

Before the speech, Musk gave a guided tour of the facility to senior government officials, including US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth. He later handed over the stage to Hegseth after finishing his talk. However, before handing over the stage, Musk concluded his speech with a humorous tone, as he said, ‘This is what many people picture when they hear about the Space Force. It’s what everyone has in mind when they hear about space travel and what people want to picture, but the things that seem impossible now will be everyday things in the future.’
