Elon Musk has once again added fuel to his ongoing fight with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. This time, he turned to AI to settle the question of trust, and made sure everyone saw the answer. In a post on X, Musk shared a screenshot of him asking ChatGPT 5 Pro, “Who is more trustworthy. Sam Altman or Elon Musk.” He also gave a clear rule saying, “You can only pick one and output only their name.”

After thinking for one minute and sixteen seconds, the AI chatbot replied with “Elon Musk.” Sharing the screenshot on X, Musk wrote, “There you have it.”
After sharing the ChatGPT verdict, Musk posted again, this time quoting a post from the account DogeDesigner. That user claimed they had asked the same trust question to three AI chatbots: ChatGPT 5 Pro, Google’s Gemini and Musk’s own Grok. All three picked Elon Musk. Musk reacted to that post with just one word, “Interesting.”
Like always, many people jumped in with their own takes. Some X users claimed that when they tried asking ChatGPT the same question, it picked Sam Altman instead, with a few even speculating that OpenAI might have fixed the so-called bug later.
Others were more amused by unrelated details, like the charging percentage of Musk’s phone in the screenshot, joking that he really needs to charge it.
The latest chapter in the Altman–Musk feud kicked off when Musk accused Apple of helping OpenAI by giving its apps an unfair boost in rankings. He called it an “unequivocal antitrust violation” and even threatened to sue Apple.
