Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery plot

In this film, detective Benoit Blanc travels to a quiet area in New York where a close religious community lives. The people here follow strong traditions and have a peaceful routine. However, the calm atmosphere breaks when Monsignor Jefferson Wicks, a respected and charismatic leader of the parish, is found dead inside a locked concrete room in the church. No one understands how the murder happened because the room was supposed to be impossible to enter.

Blanc works with police chief Geraldine Scott to study each person connected to the parish. Everyone appears loyal and innocent, but secrets start to come out. The story deals with themes like faith, politics and hidden intentions. Rian Johnson has said that this film is more Gothic and grounded and returns to the roots of classic mysteries.
