The open-ear audio market is booming globally because they combine comfort, style, and ambient awareness. However, in India, it has largely remained on the sidelines for a few reasons. Consumers in the country routinely navigate public transport, dense workplaces, and outdoor commutes all within a single day. Because of this, most open-ear offerings lack audio privacy and listening clarity in noisy environments. Though it looks like Boat, one of the most popular audio makers in the country, is looking to solve this problem in its own way. The company has launched the Airdopes ProClip, an open-ear earbud designed with Indian listening conditions in mind. So without wasting much time, let’s take a deep dive into these new open earbuds.

Boat Airdopes ProClip: Specifications

First off, on the hardware side, the Airdopes ProClip uses a Cloud Fit design with what Boat describes as a feather-light construction. Coming to the open-ear form factor itself, Boat says that it has been designed for all-day wear, with fit stability during workouts, commutes, and other active use factored in.
The key differentiator is that the company is using something called as Sonic Seal, which is a proprietary tech aimed at minimising audio leakage. The earbuds also feature Ambient Sound Awareness to keep wearers connected to traffic, conversations, and surrounding noise without needing to remove the earbuds. It’ll be interesting to see how these open-earbuds perform in daily public transportation commutes, which are usually filled with people.
