WhatsApp’s new AI feature can help polish your messages: How it works
WhatsApp has introduced a new AI-powered feature called Writing Help.
This feature is designed to help you refine your messages.
Writing Help is built on Private Processing technology.
Have you ever struggled to find the right words when messaging friends, family or colleagues on WhatsApp? Sometimes, you know what you want to say, but getting it just right can be tricky. WhatsApp is now making this easier with a new AI-powered feature called Writing Help. This feature is designed to help you refine your messages.
SurveyUsing Writing Help is simple. You just have to start drafting your message in a one-on-one or group chat, and tap the new pencil icon. You can choose one of the suggestions as is, tweak it, or continue editing until it feels just right.
Writing Help is built on Private Processing technology, which ensures that Meta or WhatsApp cannot read your messages or the AI-generated suggestions. Meta has worked closely with the security community to test and validate the technology. “Independent researchers at NCC Group and Trail of Bits published their audit reports on the steps we’ve taken to evolve this privacy-preserving technology,” the company said.

WhatsApp emphasises that using Writing Help is optional and turned off by default, giving users full control over their experience. Currently, the feature is rolling out in English, starting in the United States and a few other countries. WhatsApp plans to expand it to more languages and regions later this year.
