Let's have a look at how you can use this feature:

Step 1) Open WhatsApp and go to Status at the top of the screen

Step 2) Then to your bottom right for Android users and top for.iOS users, you'll find the pencil icon for writing something. Tap on that

Step 3) Next another window will open, there at the bottom right you'll find a mic icon. Hold onto that and start recording.

Step 4) You can cancel the recording if you don't like it sliding the mic to the left.

Step 5) You can also preview the recording before posting by tapping on the play button.

Step 6) In case you don't like it then tap on the bin icon to delete it and start over.

Step 7) After you are done recording, tap on the send button and it will be up on your status.

By following these simple steps you can easily post your voice recording as status. With that you can apply the certain customisations that WhatsApp provides. You can tap on the colour palette icon and change the background colour. Also, you can select who you want to show the status to. But something to note is that the voice notes you send on chat are limitless but the ones for status are limited. It cannot be longer than 30 seconds.

Also, in case you see that this feature hasn't appeared on your WhatsApp, please head to your app store and update to the latest version.
