Well, it looks like you will soon be able to post content on Instagram straight from your desktop and even your tablet. The feature has been highly requested by fans of the platform and it looks like Instagram is actually going to implement the feature soon. This will make it much easier for users to post content from all sources, thereby attracting a whole new range of users. An app developer called Allesandro Palluzi stated that users could just ‘drag and drop’ files on their PC and it’s ready to be posted on Instagram.

In the tweet, Palluzi said that the platform was working on a way to create posts from the desktop website. The image can also be edited, cropped etc, just like you would on the app. Various filters are also available for use if you’re into that kind of thing. And, just the mobile app, users can also add location tags on their posts. From what we can see though, it seems that you will not be able to take photographs using your webcam to post on to the platform. We assume you could transfer images from your phone or camera and then upload them to the platform.

The platform has also not commented on whether Instagram for the web will be able to support Reels and Stories. As of right now, no announcement has been made by the platform so we will have to just wait and see how this turns out. Instagram recently launched its Live Room feature to help people deal with the pandemic a little better. You can read all about that here.
