Sony Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact leaked images show fingerprint scanner
HIGHLIGHTS

Rumors related to Sony releasing a phone at an event during IFA Week seem to be true. Is it really the Xperia Z5?

Images of the Sony Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact have been leaked. The leak was posted by Twitter leaked @vizileaks. The image shows the Sony Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact placed alongside the iPhone 6 for size comparison.

In the tweet, @vizileaks calls the devices Sony Xperia (TBC) and Compact. TBC of course means "To Be Confirmed", but, you could resonably expect this to be the Xperia Z5. However, the most important thing to notice in leaked image is the fingerprint scanner setup screen. We had earlier posted that Sony is rumored to host an event to release the Xperia Z5 during the IFA Week at Berlin this year. In the post, we also wrote that the fingerprint scanner is also on radar and with this leaked image, I guess at least one of the rumors have proved to be true.

The image also seems to show that there's not much difference between the Xperia Z5/Z5 Compact and the predecessor Xperia Z4/Z3+. The only noticeable difference is a change in the size of the power button on the side. Earlier, it was a circular shaped button and in the leaked image, it is slightly elongated. Does it mean that the fingerprint scanner resides here? Well, we don't know but we'll find out soon enough.

As of now, there is still about one month to go for IFA 2015 and as well as the Sony's event. So, we can expect some more leaks in the coming weeks. We will keep you updated about them, in the meanwhile, you might like to read about the two new Sony smartphones Xperia M5 and C5 Ultra announced yesterday.
