Samsung is rumoured to launch a foldable device this year and ETNews reports that a prototype of the smartphone may be at MWC 2017. However, the Korean publication notes that the device will only be showcased to a select few at the event. It is not yet known who it will be showcased to. The report also notes that Samsung may showcase multiple devices with in-fold and out-fold designs, adding that the out-fold design may be the one that is to be commercialised. Reports of Samsung working on a foldable smartphone have been going on for a while now. The device is tipped to be called Galaxy X, and is being worked upon under codename Project Valley.

Samsung has already confirmed that it will not launch its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8 at MWC 2017. While the company has sent out invites for an event on February 26, it is expected to unveil the Galaxy Tab S3 there. Reports have suggested that the company may showcase a 60-second teaser video of the Galaxy S8 during the event, and the actual phone launch would follow in the coming months. The upcoming flagship smartphone is expected to come 5.7 and 6.2-inch variants, both with curved displays and screen aspect ratio of 18:9.
