Samsung Galaxy M47 5G India launch teased: Here is when it may debut

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy M47 5G is launching in India soon, with a dedicated microsite now live on the company’s website carrying the tagline “Next Level Monster.” The official teaser reveals the phone’s design and a red colourway but stops short of confirming any specifications, pricing or a launch date. Previously, the phone appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website under the model number SM-M476B/DS and typically this indicates the launch is nearer rather than later.

What the official teaser shows

The microsite and promotional banner reveal a deep crimson or maroon colour option with a dark matte back panel offset by vibrant metallic red accents around the camera module and frame edges. The rear features a pill-shaped camera island in the top-left corner, similar in shape to the one seen on the recently launched Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37, housing what appears to be a triple camera system next to an LED flash. A visible indentation on the right edge suggests a side-mounted fingerprint sensor built into the power button, alongside the volume rocker. Samsung has not yet revealed the marketing name for the red colourway.

Samsung Galaxy M47 leaked specifications

While Samsung’s own teaser is light on detail, separate leaks fill in some of the gaps. The phone has shown up on the Geekbench benchmarking platform under model number SM-476B, revealing an octa-core Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset from Qualcomm, with four efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz and four performance cores reaching up to 2.4GHz, paired with an Adreno 710 GPU. The listing also points to 8GB of RAM and Android 16 out of the box, expected to run One UI 8 on top. In the Geekbench AI OpenCL test, the device scored 2,256 points for GPU performance.

A tweet from tipster account Gadgetsdata, posted after Samsung’s own confirmation, adds further detail: a roughly 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz flat OLED display, a 50MP OIS main camera as part of a triple rear camera setup, and a 5,000mAh battery, alongside the same Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, 8GB RAM and Android 16 details from the Geekbench listing. Other reports suggest 128GB of internal storage, expandable up to 1TB via microSD.

Price and availability

No official pricing has been announced. Based on where Samsung typically positions M-series phones and the chipset being used, the Galaxy M47 5G is expected to compete in the sub-Rs 30,000 segment in India. The phone is confirmed to go on sale via Amazon and the Samsung India online store once launched. An exact launch date has not yet been revealed.
