Realme hikes prices of P4, P4x, P4 Power and P4 Lite 4G in India: new prices here
Realme has increased prices of 10 variants across the P4 series, effective 26 May 2026
The P4 5G sees the steepest hike of Rs 3,000, while the P4 Lite 4G gets the smallest increase at Rs 1,000
Rising memory and chipset costs cited as the reason, continuing a broader industry-wide trend of price increases
Realme has quietly raised prices on a swathe of its budget and mid-range smartphones in India. The affected Realme phones are the Realme P4 5G, P4x 5G, P4 Power 5G and P4 Lite 4G, with 10 variants in total. According to a dealer communication reviewed by Digit, the company has attributed the revision to “unavoidable increase in memory, chipset and overall smartphone ecosystem costs.” The new prices are effective from 26 May 2026.
SurveyThis is not an isolated move as Realme has been steadily revising prices upward across its portfolio in recent months, with earlier hikes affecting the Realme 16 Pro series and C-series. The broader smartphone industry in India is seeing similar adjustments, with rising component costs pushing OEMs to pass on the burden to consumers.
Kailash Lakhyani, Founder Chairman of AIMRA and President of ORA, stated, “While we acknowledge the challenges concerning the global ecosystem and chipset costs, a sudden average hike of 9.05% across critical high-volume segments of Realme smartphones in India, with some models seeing sharp increases up to 14.29%, is a matter of serious concern. In the current market scenario, such abrupt upward revisions put immense pressure on mainline retail operations and heavily impact sales velocity.”
“The pressure is no longer confined to a single brand. This month alone, we have witnessed sequential price hikes from Motorola, Xiaomi, OPPO, Poco, Samsung, Realme, Nothing, and OnePlus. Due to these continuous price increases, consumer demand has hit a major roadblock. We are looking at a devastating drop in sales volumes, which have plummeted by 30% in General Trade (Mainline Retail) and 20% in Modern Retail. If brands do not absorb these component shocks or find alternative market stabilizers, the mainline mobile retail ecosystem faces an unprecedented survival crisis,” he added.
