Poco M2 has officially launched in India as the new budget offering by the Xiaomi sub-brand. Just a day after the global launch of the Poco X3 NFC, the company has released a toned-down version of the Poco M2 Pro for the entry-level segment that launched in India on July 7.
Poco M2 has been designed for the budget segment and comes with the essential feature set including a Full HD+ screen, high-capacity battery, water-resistant built and more. Interestingly, the Poco M2 borrows a lot from the Redmi 9 Prime that was launched in August in India. Let’s take a look at the price, specifications and availability of the Poco M2.
Poco M2 is priced starting at Rs 10,999 for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage and Rs 12,499 for the 128GB storage variant. The M2 will be available in three colours-- Brick Red, Pitch Black and Slate Blue.
Poco M2 goes on sale for the first time on September 15 at 12 PM on Flipkart.
Poco M2 features a 6.53-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution display with a waterdrop notch cutout for the selfie camera up front. The screen is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3 and the fingerprint sensor is situated just below the camera module. The Poco M2 is also protected by P2i splash and rust protection.
The M2 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 processor with an octa-core CPU and Mali-G52 GPU. This is paired with 6GB RAM and upto 128GB storage options to choose from. The phone also comes with a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion. It runs on Android 10-based MIUI 10 and the company has promised an update to MIUI 12 soon.
The Poco M2 comes with a set of four cameras on the back that consists of a 13MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 118-degree field-of-view, a 5MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera housed within the notch cutout.
The M2 is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging out-of-the-box.
