HIGHLIGHTS
As Google released the Android 16 update to Pixel devices, Samsung is also gearing up for the One UI 8 update. While the stable update is slated to arrive with the upcoming foldable phones in July, the tech giant has confirmed that it will roll out the beta update to the Galaxy S24 series soon. However, it hasn’t revealed any details on the exact date. Now, a new leak has tipped that the One UI 8 beta update will be available for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 this week.
According to Tony Tech (@Tonysamsunglove) on X (formerly Twitter), the Galaxy S24 Ultra, S24 Plus, S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 are expected to receive the Android 16-based One UI 8 update this week. This also aligns with the previous leak of the One UI 8 build (firmware version ending in S928BXXU4CYF7) on Samsung’s servers, suggesting imminent rollout.
Additionally, the Galaxy S23 Ultra, S23+, S23, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5 are slated to receive the One UI 8 beta next week, followed by the Galaxy S22 Ultra, S22+, S22, Fold 4, and Z Flip 4 in early July.
Notably, Samsung rolled out the One UI 8 Beta programme on the Galaxy S25 series in May. It is available in 36 countries, including India, the US, and South Korea. The Galaxy S25 owners can sign up for the beta programme via the Samsung Members app. However, the availability of features may vary based on the country or region.

The One UI 8 beta will introduce dynamic live wallpapers that automatically adjust their tone based on the time of day. The Now Bar provides support for more apps, enabling users to track live updates directly from the lock screen. Additionally, it will also improve the split-screen mode, a revamped Weather app, Reminder app, and more. Furthermore, the latest update will add auto-categorisation of screenshots in the Gallery app to categories such as Boarding Passes, Coupons, and Shopping Lists.
