Motorola Droid Turbo 2 tipped for October 29 release
HIGHLIGHTS

Motorola is expected to announce the device on October 15th, and will be available through Verizon and Moto Maker

Motorola will reportedly be releasing the Moto Droid Turbo 2 in the US market on October 29th, exclusively through Verizon Wireless. It will come with Moto Maker support. The device will allegedly be marketed as the Moto X Force in Asia and Europe.

Phandroid has claimed that the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 is expected to be announced on October 15th, with the release date set for October 29. The dates have not been confirmed yet and might change later. Details of the Moto X Force have been previously leaked by Twitter user @upleaks. It is expected to feature a 5.43-inch QHD ‘shatterproof’ display, Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 21-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera, and a 3760mAh battery. The phone will be available in 32GB and 64GB variants. Phandroid has suggested that the POLED display will be reinforced with metallic edges to make it shatterproof. The Droid Turbo 2 will also support wireless charging.

Apart from Verizon, the Droid Turbo 2 will also be available via Moto Maker, allowing buyers to customize their handsets. Additionally, Verizon users will be able to order a one-time free replacement if they decide to change the design, within two years of purchase. Customization options are still a bit sketchy, although Verizon outlets are expected to showcase some of the designs at their retail outlets. The Droid Turbo 2 will become the first in the Droid series to be sold via Moto Maker. No pricing details have been revealed yet. However, earlier leaks have suggested that the Moto X Force will be priced at around $628 (Rs. 41,500 approx.). If the Droid Turbo 2 is indeed the same device, it should be priced similarly.

Motorola recently launched the Moto X Play in India for Rs. 18,499. It features a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by the Snapdragon 615 octa-core SoC with an Adreno 405 GPU along with 2GB of RAM. It has a 21MP primary camera as well as a 5MP front facing camera and a 3630mAh battery. It comes in 16GB and 32GB storage options with microSD card support.
