The long-awaited USB Type-C port on the iPhone is finally here now with the iPhone 15 series. However, one question that was raised was- what different features does this USB Type-C port bring if not fast charging? Well, Apple has answered this question now and it seems like it can do much more. Apple talked about the features of USB-C and its benefits as well. Along with connecting the accessories, this will also help you in data transfer at a fast speed. Let’s check out what this USB Type-C Port has to offer. 

Let’s start with the charging of Apple AirPods and Watch. Yes, your iPhone 15 can now charge your Apple AirPods or Apple Watch! This means that the iPhones now come with reverse charging support.

Next in the line is Power Delivery (PD). Apple also confirmed that iPhone 15 users can now charge their devices with any USB Type-C cable that supports Power Delivery. This is contradictory to the rumours which surfaced earlier, claiming that iPhone 15 models will charge with only “Made for iPhone” cables. Anyway, this will definitely change the universal problem of finding “iPhone cables”.

Furthermore, if you use the iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max, you get the advantage of transferring data at high speed too. The iPhone 15 Pro models come with a USB 3.2 port, which supports up to 10Gbps data transfer. However, Apple being Apple, the brand ships the USB 2.0 cable with the iPhone, meaning that you have to buy the USB 3.2 cable separately to use this feature.
