Apple’s first foldable iPhone is still on track for launch this year, despite recent concerns about possible delays. Earlier this week, it was reported that the iPhone Fold may not release this fall as the tech giant is facing engineering challenges. However, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman now suggests that the company is moving ahead as planned and could introduce the device in September.
SurveyApple is expected to unveil the foldable iPhone alongside its next generation of Pro models during its usual fall launch event. The company typically makes its devices available in stores within a week of the announcement, and this year is expected to follow the same pattern.

Interestingly, there is also a shift in the expected name of the device. While many had been referring to it as the iPhone Fold, new information from well-known tipster Digital Chat Station suggests Apple may instead brand it as the iPhone Ultra.

The foldable iPhone is expected to feature a 7.8-inch OLED main display with a 120Hz refresh rate. When folded, users may get a 5.5-inch OLED screen for everyday use. Under the hood, the device could run on Apple’s upcoming A20 Pro chip. It will likely come with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. Furthermore, it is expected to pack a 5,800mAh battery. Apple could also bring back Touch ID, possibly integrating it into the side power button to save space in the foldable design.
For photography, the foldable iPhone may feature a dual camera setup on the back, consisting of a 48MP main camera and a 48MP ultra-wide lens. On the front, there could be an 18MP or 24MP camera.
