Apple has revealed the battery capacity of its first foldable, the iPhone Duo, through an energy label published in the European Union (EU). According to the document, the device has a total battery capacity of 4,883 mAh. While Apple is known for introducing new features and improvements in its products, battery capacity has often been a point of discussion. The newly revealed figure also gives users a chance to compare the iPhone Duo with other premium foldables smartphones, including Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8.
SurveyThe battery details appear to match an earlier leak about the iPhone Duo. The leak claimed that the device would use two battery cells. One cell has a capacity of 2,962 mAh, while the second offers 1,921 mAh. Together, they provide a total capacity of 4,883 mAh.

For context, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 features a 4,800 mAh battery. Based on the reported figures, the iPhone Duo has a slightly larger battery, with an advantage of 83 mAh.
However, battery capacity alone cannot determine which phone will last longer. Real-world battery life will depend on how efficiently each device uses power. Display size, multitasking, software optimisation and usage habits can all make a difference.

Apple iPhone Duo delivery date slips to January 2027
Apple recently opened up pre-orders for the iPhone Duo. Within an hour, delivery estimates began to show January 2027 as the expected delivery date. Industry experts believe limited supply could be behind the lengthy delivery times.
Navkendar Singh, Associate Vice President with IDC India, recently told Digit, “Considering the supply situation and the higher price point, the supply constraint relative to demand was always expected, frankly.”
Meanwhile, Tarun Pathak, Research Director at Counterpoint Research said, ‘Supply is tight, and the early adopters, a narrow pool who want to stand out even within Apple’s lineup, have gone for what’s available.’
Despite the delivery delays, experts believe the extended wait won’t affect the sales potential. According to Faisal Kawoosa, Chief Analyst at Techarc, “the delivery slipping to Jan is unlikely to affect the potential, but yes it will be distasteful to buyers waiting for a few more months.”
Pathak expects limited availability to influence how Indian buyers get the device. “Indian buyers will also split between those buying locally and those sourcing from overseas or grey-market channels, depending on supply,” he said.
Well, only time will tell how well Apple iPhone Duo performs in terms of sales.
