Tecno announces Android 15 based HiOS 15 with AI features

Tecno is finally set to roll out the Android 15-based HiOS 15 update for its smartphone lineup. The latest update is said to bring a slew of new and enhanced features, including a cleaner UI, smooth animations, AI-generated wallpapers, and refreshed app icons. Additionally, the devices will get an AI assistant—Ella AI—which will support Hindi and extend to Bengali, Tamil, Gujarati, and Marathi through OTA updates later this year. HiOS will also add advanced privacy features with AI image blurring, reducing pre-installed apps by 40%.

Tecno HiOS 15 update to roll out soon: What’s new

Tecno has announced its AI-driven HiOS 15 update, based on Android 15, calling it practical and user-friendly. The update will bring AI-driven calling features like AI Call Assistant and AI Auto Answer to offer real-time translations, transcriptions, auto-answer calls, and call summaries. Plus, it will also add an AI Voiceprint Noise Suppression feature that can help reduce background noise.

Additionally, Tecno will add AI Writing & Document Assistant functionality that can summarise, rewrite, or expand text and convert handwritten notes into editable Word or PDF files.

For photos, HiOS 15 is getting upgraded AI Eraser 2.0 and Image Extender, which enable users to remove objects from the background and expand parts of an image based on voice commands. Furthermore, the AI Wallpaper Generator will create custom wallpapers using text prompts and sketches. For blurry images, the devices will get AI Sharpness Plus.

That’s not all, the new UI will also come with Smart Privacy with AI Blurring, which will automatically detect and hide private details within screenshots before sharing. Other key highlights include new transition animations, wallpapers, minimalist icons, Picture-in-Picture (PiP) support, a redesigned dropdown control panel and better optimisations.
