Along with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, Samsung has also expanded its wearable portfolio with Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic. The new smartwatches bring a new design with some hardware refinements. Both watches also offer deeper health-tracking features, AI-powered energy insights, and integrated Gemini voice assistant support. The smartwatches are backed by Wear OS 6 with One UI 8 Watch and include new capabilities like real-time stress alerts, sleep apnea detection, and an Antioxidant Index sensor.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic specifications
It will be available in two sizes- 40mm and 44mm. The 40mm variant offers a 1.34-inch Super AMOLED panel while the 44mm variant offers a 1.47-inch Super AMOLED panel. Both come with Sapphire Crystal glass with Always On Display and offer a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Under the hood, the device comes with 3nm Exynos W1000 and is coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The 44mm variant is backed by a 435mAh battery while the 40mm is backed by a 325mAh battery. The wearable comes pre-loaded with Gemini, Samsung Health, and Google services.
The Galaxy Watch8 Classic, meanwhile, is available in a 46mm size and brings back the physical rotating bezel for navigating the interface. It features the same internal specifications as the standard Watch8, including the Exynos W1000 processor, 2GB RAM, 64GB storage, and Wear OS 6 with One UI 8 Watch. The only difference is, it gets a big 445mAh battery.

The Galaxy Watch 8 series includes sleep apnea detection, AI-powered Energy Score, and an industry-first Antioxidant Index that measures carotenoid levels to provide information about cellular health. It also includes new features such as Bedtime Guidance, which provides circadian rhythm-based sleep suggestions, and an updated Stress Management system, which provides real-time alerts and breathing exercises during high-stress periods.
These watches also include a new Running Coach mode, which assigns a fitness score out of ten and provides a personalised routine based on activities. It also includes improved GPS support and body sensors for more precise tracking of activities such as running, walking, and cycling. It also includes Gemini, which allows users to set reminders, check schedules, and search for nearby locations using voice commands without the need for a phone. It also includes new Multi-Info Tiles and the Now Bar for improved visibility.
Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic price and availability
The new Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 starts at Rs. 32,999 for the 40mm Bluetooth variant, while the 44mm Bluetooth model is priced at Rs. 35,999. The LTE versions are priced at Rs. 36,999 for the 40mm and Rs. 39,999 for the 44mm model.
As for the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, the 46mm Bluetooth variant is priced at Rs. 46,999, and the LTE version costs Rs. 50,999.
The Galaxy Watch8 and Watch8 Classic are available for pre-order starting July 9, with open sales beginning July 25 in select global markets.
