OpenAI shared the update about the free Codex via its official X handle as the OpenAIDevelopers wrote, ‘Want to officially use Codex at work? Send this post to your CTO to bring your team to Codex. Eligible enterprise customers who switch in the next 30 days get 2 free months of Codex usage for new users.’
Moreover, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has also promoted the offer as he praised the product on a post he put up on his official X handle. He wrote, ‘Codex is the best AI coding product, and we want to make it easy to try.’ He further added that companies interested in switching over to Codex during the next 30 days would receive ‘two months of free Codex usage’.

The offer is meant for enterprise customers, especially the ones who want to try Codex inside their organisations. While OpenAI has not yet publicly shared the requirements, the company clarified that the applications will be reviewed before approval.
