Today, we are going to talk about a new AI wearable, the world’s first glasses powered by an integrated multimodal AI assistant called ‘Frame’. It is a product by Singapore-based consumer electronics company Brilliant Labs. These are further backed by Pokemon Go fame Niantic Labs.

Remember how as kids we felt intrigued and wanted to have a virtual assistant like Iron Man’s Jarvis? That could do everything he asked for. But cut to today, we have such AI assistants all around us. From something as basic as Siri and Alexa to Humane AI pin and the latest Apple Vision Pro. We have come a long way, and trust me we’ve just started.

Not just this, companies such as OpenAI and Perplexity AI are also backing it.

Brilliant Labs is led by ex-Apple executive Bobak Tavangar. He says, “Frame truly offers a new paradigm in the way humans interface with the digital world, and with each other.”

AI Frame

What are the features of Frame?

The Frame has a microLED panel that showcases virtual reality. It has a nose piece that sports a minute camera and the earpieces hold the batteries. These glasses, unlike others, can translate languages, and answer queries with the help of AI.

It is equipped with an always-on virtual assistant called ‘Noa’. It can even adapt to the user’s interactions and evolve into a unique personality. Plus Noa can run heavier commands and run multiple AI systems to fulfill heavy tasks as it is backed by the device’s in-built multimodal generative AI. It has the power to run GPT-4, Stability AI, and Whisper AI models all at once.

Coming to the design of the Frame. It is inspired by the spectacles worn by legends such as Mahatma Gandhi, Steve Jobs, and John Lennon.

Lastly, Frame is available in three colour ways: – black, white, and transparent and they also work with prescription lenses.
