PUBG Mobile Campus Championship 2018 receives 250,000 registrations in India: Tencent

The finals of the tournament will be held on October 21 in Bengaluru and there is a total prize pool of Rs 50 lakh up for grabs

Tencent has announced that it has received 250,000 registrations for its PUBG Mobile Campus Championship 2018. Out of these, the first 1,000 teams of four have already already checked in and played in the online qualifiers. These teams have been playing matches with live commentary and streaming on PUBG Mobile’s YouTube page. The qualifiers featured a total of 600 matches in knockout rounds over 12 days of qualifiers. The tournament will constitute of four players teaming up in ‘Squad’ mode and battling it out on the ‘Erangel’ map.

To recall, the developer announced the competition in September and invited students from over a 1,000 colleges in India in more than 30 cities. It is also offering a prize pool of 50 lakh and the developer claims that that is India’s biggest eSports tournament. 

The finals of the tournament will see the top 20 teams battle it in KTPO , Whitefield, Bengaluru on October 21. The final will feature contests, freebies, and giveaways of Oppo F9 Pro smartphones. The finals will also be streamed live on PUBG Mobile’s YouTube and Facebook pages. Those interested in attending the event can apply for passes on www.pubgmobile.in.
