According to a report by Android Authority, Google is working on a new feature for Google Photos called “Cinematic Moment”. Unlike Cinematic Photos, which transforms flat images into 3D views, Cinematic Moment will likely work its magic on videos.

While investigating the latest version of the Google Photos app — version 6.84.0.634885033 — Android Authority contributor Assemble Debug spotted the Cinematic Moment feature.

The Cinematic Moment feature is expected to automatically select segments of videos and apply a slow-motion effect to create captivating moments. Unlike Cinematic Photos, users won’t have the option to manually create Cinematic Moments initially. However, Google may consider adding this capability in the future, following the feature’s rollout.

Apart from the above details, no other information about the Cinematic Moment is currently available.

Recently, it was reported that Google Photos could add a new video editing feature that will likely allow users to enhance their videos by tapping a single button.

Dubbed “Enhance your video,” the new editing feature in Google Photos is expected to introduce a magic wand icon beside the stabilisation button upon initiating video editing. This feature could automatically fine-tune brightness, contrast, saturation, and other attributes of the video to enhance its overall appearance.
