The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced a PVC Aadhaar card, a more durable, wallet-friendly version of the traditional paper card. This new form factor not only enhances longevity but also offers better convenience and security.
SurveyThe 12-digit Aadhaar number, which serves as a crucial proof of identity and address, has become a necessity for almost every official process, from banking and SIM verification to government benefits. UIDAI recommends revalidating Aadhaar every 10 years to ensure that details remain accurate.
UIDAI’s PVC Aadhaar card addresses issues like wear and tear, fading, and storage. Made of high-quality synthetic plastic, the card is ATM-sized (86mm x 54mm) and comes loaded with advanced security features for authenticity.
PVC Aadhaar Card advantages
The PVC Aadhaar card is designed to last a lifetime and is easy to carry, fitting snugly in your wallet like a debit or credit card. It features holograms, micro-text, ghost images, and a secure QR code that can be scanned to verify your identity instantly.
This upgraded version replaces earlier paper or laminated Aadhaar cards, which often wear out over time. The improved build quality makes it resistant to water damage, bending, or fading, ensuring your identity proof stays intact for years.
