The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 retains the rugged titanium design of its predecessor, but Samsung has made several improvements. The new model is 12 per cent thinner despite housing a larger battery. Samsung has also introduced lighter and softer watch bands to improve comfort.
Speaking of the display, the previous Galaxy Watch Ultra features a 1.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 480 x 480 pixels resolution and up to 3,000 nits of brightness. The new Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 offers a slightly larger 1.52-inch Super AMOLED display with a 498 x 498 pixel resolution and up to 5,000 nits of brightness.

Samsung has replaced the Exynos W1000 (3nm) processor found in the original Galaxy Watch Ultra with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite (SDW6100, 3nm) chip in the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
Both smartwatches offer 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, so users won’t notice any difference in memory or app storage. On the software front, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 ships with Wear OS 7 and One UI 9 Watch, while the older model was launched with an earlier version of Wear OS and One UI Watch.

However, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 raises the bar by adding IP69K certification for improved dust and water resistance. Speaking of connectivity, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 has upgraded from Bluetooth 5.3 to Bluetooth 6.0.
