How you can make Digit your preferred source in Google Search

Google has introduced a new Preferred Sources feature in Search, giving you more control over the news outlets you see first. Once you select your favourite publications, their stories will appear more prominently in the Top Stories carousel and may even get their own dedicated “From your sources” section. The idea is simple, Google lets you pick the voices you trust, while still showing a mix of other perspectives.

Step 1: In Google Search, type in any trending tech topic, like “Google Pixel 10” or “AI news,” to bring up the Top Stories section or you can click here to add Digit as your preferred tech partner.

Step 2: Look for the star icon (or card icon) next to “Top Stories” and click or tap it. This will open the Preferred Sources menu.

Step 3: In the pop-up, type Digit into the search bar. When our name appears, click the plus (+) icon to add us to your list.

Step 4: Click Reload results to apply your choice.

From now on, Google will prioritise showing Digit’s articles when they’re relevant to your search. Once set, you’ll notice our stories more frequently in Top Stories and, in some cases, in a special “From your sources” section further down the search results page. You can revisit the same star icon anytime to add, remove, or change your preferred sources.

Currently, this feature is rolling out in India and the U.S., with more regions expected to get it soon. So, the next time you search for the latest on smartphones, AI, or gadgets, you’ll know you’re getting it straight from a source you trust – Digit.
