1.Madhur Bhandarkar wanted Deepika Padukone in the lead role. She declined to date problems.
2. The film was originally slated to release on August 7th, however, director Madhur Bhandarkar was not happy that the Indian censor board ordered certain swear words in the film to be muted. Bhandarkar reasoned that since his film had received an A (adults only) certificate, that the audience should be expected to be mature enough when these words are heard. He took his film to the censor revising committee to appeal the decision - thus causing the delay in release.
3. Rohit Roy plays a fashion photographer in the film. He had played fashion photographer in earlier Madhur Bhandarkar film Fashion 2008.
4. According to director Madhur Bhandarkar, the story of Calendar Girls is 75% reality and 25% fiction.
