1. Hrithik prepared for his role in Kaabil extensively. It is reported that he locked himself in his house for four-five days to get into the skin of the character. He also moved around the house blindfolded so he could get himself acquainted with the body language of the blind people. He also invited a few blind people and keenly studied their mannerisms and expressions.
2. Was initially set to release on January 26th, 2017 but a postponement of another high profile Bollywood film, Raees, caused the makers to bring the release date one day forward to January 27th to avoid the clash. The makers of Raees then also brought their release date forward by one day thereby causing a clash again.
3. It was earlier reported in the Indian media that Netflix might sue the makers of Kaabil for plagiarising key elements from their hit TV show Daredevil (2015). However, these reports were later rubbished by Netflix.
4. Ronit Roy injured himself during an action scene and required surgery following which nine pieces of glass were taken out from his arm.
5. Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy (who are siblings in real life) play villains together for the first time.
6. The movie features a recreated version of the classic song "Sara Zamana" from Yaarana which featured Amitabh Bachchan. Coincidentally, it's a Rajesh Roshan song. Rajesh mentioned that back in the day, his nephew Hrithik (who is the lead actor in Kaabil) had helped him pick this tune for the 1982 number.
7. Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy are Bengalis. They play Maharashtrian characters for the first time in Kaabil. Both of them took classes to get the typical Marathi accent right.
8. Kaabil marks the coming together of director Sanjay Gupta and Hrithik Roshan for the first time.
9. Kaabil is Hrithik's quickest movie to date. They shot the movie in a little over three months in Mumbai.
10. Rohit Roy and Ronit Roy had earlier played brothers in the TV serial Sarkar in 2005.
11. With Kaabil, Rajesh Roshan completed 40 years as a music composer. He started with Kunwara Baap & Julie in 1975/76. In this film, he also recreated his yesteryear hit songs, Dil Kya Kare and Saara Zamana. Apart from Naushad Ali, no Bollywood music composer has had such a long track record in the industry.
12. When brother's Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy signed the film they said that they always wanted to play on-screen villains as brothers.
13. The film was released on 25 January 2017 along with Rahul Dholakia's Raees starring Shah Rukh Khan. Kaabil opened on 2700 screens whereas Raees opened on 3500 screens.
14. Hrithik Roshan's character was called Rohan Bhatnagar. A fan named Rohan Bhatnagar wrote a letter to Hrithik Roshan praising him for his performance and making his name special.
15. The film clashed with Raees at the box office and was known as the biggest box office clash of recent times. The last time a high-profile clash of two films happened was back in December 2015, when Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani both released on the same day. Dilwale and Raees both star Shah Rukh Khan.
16. Kaabil was released across Pakistan, becoming the first Indian film to be screened in Pakistan, post lifting of the ban on Indian films after the 2016 Uri terror attack and its aftermath.
17. Kaabil and Raees were released on the same day on 25th January 2017. Narendra Jha was the common factor in both films playing an important role.
