Samsung One UI 8.5 update release timeline

Samsung is expected to launch the One UI 8.5 update together with the Galaxy S26 phones. Reports say the Galaxy S26 series might be announced on February 25, 2026, but Samsung hasn’t confirmed this yet. After the launch, the update will slowly roll out to older Galaxy devices, likely between April and June 2026.

Samsung One UI 8.5 features

Samsung is planning to refresh its battery section with a cleaner and more detailed layout. Users may get improved information on battery health, charge cycles and usage patterns. The updated power-saving mode is expected to help stretch battery life through the day without affecting the basic performance of the device.

AI features are also expected to improve in this version. Faster image creation, better photo editing and a more responsive Bixby assistant are likely to be some of the key highlights. With these changes, Bixby could handle reminders, text messages and smart home commands with better understanding and fewer steps from the user

Samsung DeX may also get new window resizing controls to make it feel more like using a computer. Simple additions such as a weather-based alarm background and a time zone converter in the Clock app are likely to make regular tasks more convenient.
