Ever since we started using laptops, the clamshell form factor has been the standard. Even though brands have made them slimmer over the years, we are still used to our laptops opening up as notebooks. But now, brands have started experimenting and are set to change things soon. Last year during CES we all got a look at Lenovo’s ambitious ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable. At a glance, it looked like an ordinary 14-inch notebook, until you pressed a button. The display then began rising, expanding vertically into a 16.7-inch portrait panel. Now, if reports are true, Lenovo might launch another rollable laptop during CES 2026.

Lenovo bringing a new rollable laptop to CES 2026?
According to a report from Windows Latest, Lenovo is developing a Legion branded laptop that can physically widen into an ultrawide machine, thereby bringing rollable technology to gamers. The device reportedly uses a horizontally expanding panel that rolls out from both sides of the lid, creating a wider 21:9 view on demand. Positioned as a proper gaming system rather than a form factor experiment, the laptop is planned for an early 2026 reveal, most likely at CES. If successful, it could give portable gaming hardware a new design direction and show what rollables can offer beyond productivity.
What to expect
Windows Latest also revealed certain details about the upcoming laptop, citing leaked promotional content as their source. The leaks point to a flexible panel stored within the left and right sides of the lid, which motors pull outward to reveal a continuous ultrawide surface. Moreover, the leaked images show the laptop with prominent bezels around the screen. This could probably be to avoid damage to the display’s edges.
The laptop is also expected to run on an Intel Core Ultra processor, continuing Lenovo’s trend across its Legion line and aligning with Intel’s AI focused gaming strategy.
There is no confirmation of an AMD variant yet. In addition to this, the laptop could run on Windows 11 and also include a Copilot key for AI features. As for the refresh rate, it is expected to be at least 120 Hz. Other details about the laptop remain under the wraps.
However, since Lenovo hasn’t confirmed the laptop officially and all details are based on leaks at the time, do take this information with a pinch of salt. Keep watching this space for more details on CES 2026 and Lenovo’s upcoming rollable laptop.
