Google has announced the Pixel Watch 4, the Pixel Buds 2a, and a new Moonstone colour option for the Pixel Buds Pro 2, alongside its latest Pixel 10 series of smartphones. Google also confirmed upcoming software updates for its existing earbuds.
SurveyPixel Watch 4 The Pixel Watch 4 brings the most significant refresh with new hardware and a redesigned interface. The Actua 360 display with domed glass now offers 10% more screen area and slimmer bezels. The display supports peak brightness of 3,000 nits, a 50% increase over the Watch 3.
The Watch 4 runs on Google’s new Material 3X Expressive UI, bringing richer notifications, more dynamic watch faces, and adaptive themes. Some of the key hardware changes include a stronger haptics engine, improved speaker, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 platform paired with an ML-powered coprocessor. Google says this combination is 25% faster while using half the power of the previous generation. The RAM has also been increased to 6 GB.
In terms of battery performance, the Watch 4 is rated at 30 hours for the 41 mm model and 40 hours for the 45 mm model, with two to three days possible in battery saver mode. Charging is now quicker, with a 50% charge in around 15 minutes.
Durability has been upgraded with Gorilla Glass and aerospace-grade aluminium. The device is waterproof up to 50 metres and has an IP68 rating. Importantly, the Pixel Watch 4 is the first in the series designed to be serviceable, allowing for display and battery repairs.
Fitness and health tracking features are powered by Fitbit and Google AI and include more accurate heart rate monitoring, improved sleep tracking, a new skin temperature sensor, dual-frequency GPS, and AI-driven activity recognition. The watch also integrates with Google apps such as Gmail and Calendar alongside Gemini on the wrist, which now supports a “Raise to Talk” feature.
The Pixel Watch 4 will be available for pre-order from 20 August and go on sale on 4 October. Pricing remains unchanged at Rs 39,900 for the 41 mm variant and Rs 43,900 for the 45 mm variant. In India, only Wi-Fi models will be offered.
Pixel Buds 2a
Google also introduced the Pixel Buds 2a, which is being positioned as an affordable option with several premium features. The earbuds use the new Tensor A1 audio processor and feature Active Noise Cancellation for the first time in the A-series. Google claims noise cancellation is 1.5 times stronger than the original Pixel Buds Pro.
The design includes a twist-to-turn for a secure fit, and the buds are the smallest and lightest in the A-series to date. They are IP54-rated for sweat and water resistance, while the case carries an IPX4 rating. The case is also designed for repairability, supporting battery replacement.
The Buds 2a is powered via 11 mm drivers with an updated acoustic chamber, and a five-band equaliser is available through the app. The call quality is supported by wind-blocking mesh covers and AI-assisted enhancements, which Google claims bring more clarity to daily conversations.
The battery life is rated at up to 7 hours with ANC enabled (20 hours including the case) or up to 10 hours without ANC (27 hours with the case). A five-minute charge provides an hour of listening with ANC on.
The earbuds also support multipoint connectivity, Fast Pair, and the FindHub feature for locating misplaced devices. There’s AI integration with Gemini that allows for hands-free assistance. They will be available in Hazel and Iris colours for Rs 12,999, with pre-orders beginning on 20 August and sales starting on 9 October.
