Is this iPhone 17 Pro? Man spotted using the phone in public before launch

For a long time now, there have been several leaks and rumours about the upcoming Apple iPhone 17 series. From major camera upgrades to design overhauls, the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to bring some of the biggest changes we’ve seen in years. And now, we may have just gotten our first real-world look at it.

A user named @Skyfops on X (formerly Twitter) recently posted a couple of photos showing a man holding two iPhones. One of them, wrapped in a black case, is believed to be the iPhone 17 Pro. While the person who posted the image isn’t a known leaker, the post gained attention after Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reposted it with the comment, “This looks legit.” Gurman’s reputation for accurate Apple leaks adds weight to the sighting.

The iPhone in question features a wide, horizontal camera bar that stretches across the back. This design matches what we’ve heard in earlier leaks. In the leaked images, we can see that there are three lenses on the left-side of the camera bar and the right-side houses vertically aligned LED flash and LiDAR scanner.

Another interesting detail, pointed out by MacRumors, is the second phone in the man’s hand, which appears to be an iPhone 16 Pro. It has a sticker on the back, possibly hiding a data matrix code that Apple uses to track internal testing units. If accurate, this could mean the individual is an Apple employee testing unreleased hardware.

Of course, since the original post didn’t come from a well-known source, it’s wise to take this with a pinch of salt.

Apple iPhone 17 Pro specifications (Expected)

The Apple iPhone 17 Pro is expected to feature a 6.3-inch display with 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is said to be powered by the A19 Pro chipset. It will likely run on iOS 26 and include an improved version of Siri.

For photography, the iPhone 17 Pro model will likely sport three 48MP lenses on the back: a main sensor, an ultra-wide sensor and a periscope telephoto lens.
