MSI India has released new variants of two of its gaming laptops, the GT720 and the GS60, updated with the latest 6th gen. Intel processors. The GT72 Dominator Pro G will be available in two variants, one with an Intel Core i7-6820HK processor, and one with Intel Core i7-6700HQ. The GS60, on the other hand, will be available with only one processor choice, that is the Intel Core i7-6700HQ. There is a difference in GPUs as well. The GT72 features an Nvidia GTX 980M, and the GS60 has Nvidia GTX 970M.

Skylake is codename of the brand new 14nm micro-architecture of Intel’s latest 6th generation processors. The Skylake platform requires lower power consumption but delivers better performance than before. Regular Core i7 6700HQ is 10% faster than i7 4720HQ under average usage. CPU performance of i7 6820HK increases up to 30% under overclocking compared with that of i7 4720HQ. Furthermore, GT72 with i7-6820HK supports overclocking up to 4GHz.
