Along with the AirPods 5 and iPhone 18 Pro series, Apple has officially expanded its smartwatch lineup with Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 bringing new health sensors, improved fitness tracking and Apple Intelligence features to its latest wearables. Both models are powered by the Apple’s new S11 chip and introduce more frequent heart rate and heart rate variability (HRV) measurements, along with a new readiness score that assesses how prepared users are for the day. The Apple Watch Series 12 is available in 42mm and 46mm sizes, while the Ultra 4 comes in a 49mm titanium case. Both use Apple’s new Health Sensing System and can measure heart rate every five seconds. HRV readings are captured up to 24 times more frequently, while the new readiness feature combines activity, training load, sleep and vitals to generate a 0-10 score with recommendations such as Recover, Ready and Go For It.
The Series 12 offers up to 24 hours of regular battery life and up to 10 hours during outdoor workouts. A 15-minute charge can add up to 12 hours of battery life. The Ultra 4 extends this to up to 50 hours of normal use and up to 84 hours in Low Power Mode. Outdoor workouts can be tracked for up to 45 hours using its extended modes.
Both watches support Siri AI through watchOS 27, along with new Audio Intelligence features such as Sound Recognition, Live Rewind and Siri Recap. The Ultra 4 also gets advanced outdoor features, including improved GPS tracking, a customisable Action button and support for longer workout sessions.

Apple Watch Ultra 4 starts at Rs 1,09,900 in India. The India pricing for Apple Watch Series 12 was not included in the launch information provided. The Series 12 will be offered in aluminium, titanium and ceramic finishes, while the Ultra 4 comes in natural and black titanium. Both models are available to pre-order, with sales beginning September 18.
