Redmi has been teasing its “XL Experience” for some time now and today the company has launched its X Series TVs in India. All the TVs support a 4K resolution along with HDR 10, HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision. The TVs bring a lot of features we saw on the Mi QLED TV (review) such as the Vivid picture engine, support for Dolby Atmos via eARC and all three HDMI ports support HDMI 2.1. This means that PS5 (review) and Xbox Series X (review) gamers can take advantage of ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) on this TV.
The Redmi Smart TV is available in three screen sizes - 50, 55 and 65-inch. All the TVs are 4K TVs with support for HDR 10, HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision. The TVs also have Xiaomi’s Reality Flow and Vivid Picture Engine to enhance the image quality.
When it comes to audio, the TVs have 30W of sound output but do not have the 6-driver setup found on the Mi QLED TV. It has two 15W drivers. It will be interesting to see the audio performance from this TV. When it comes to Audio codecs, the Redmi TVs support DTS Virtual: X, DTS-HD, Dolby Audio, and Dolby Atmos Pass through via e-ARC.
Under the hood, the Redmi TVs are powered by a 64 bit quad-core A55 CPU, Mali G52 MP2 and come with 2GB RAM coupled with 16GB storage. The TVs run on Android 10 out of the box and also come with Xiaomi’s PatchWall UI. With PatchWall consumers get access to content before the streaming service making the navigation process a lot easier. PatchWall also brings features like Universal Search to search for content irrespective of the streaming service. It also has a Kids Mode to ensure search terms like “War” bring up children-friendly content only. PatchWall also brings with it an interesting set of features and you can learn more about PatchWall here. The TV also comes with a Mi Home app letting you control your Xiaomi smart home appliances like the Mi Water Purifier, Mi camera and more.
The Redmi TV comes with three HDMI 2.1 enabled ports all of which bring ALLM. The TV does not support VRR. One of the HDMI ports also supports eARC so you can connect your Dolby Atmos enabled soundbar or home theatre to the TV. The Redmi TV also comes with two USB ports, one optical port and a 3.5mm port. It also supports Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band Wi-Fi.
The Redmi Smart TV X50 is priced at Rs 32,999, the Redmi Smart TV X55 is priced at Rs 38,999 and the Redmi smart TV X65 is priced at Rs 57,999. All the TVs will be available on 26 March 12 PM on mi.com, Amazon.in, Mi Home and Mi Studio. ICICI bank card users get Rs 2000 when they purchase the TV on March 26.
