Vodafone Idea has introduced a new option called Vi InstaData that gives selected prepaid users an extra 1GB of mobile data when they are about to exhaust their daily limit. The service does not require any additional payment from the prepaid balance. Instead, customers agree to give up two days from the remaining validity of their active unlimited daily data pack. Vi InstaData can be helpful in situations when you exhaust your current data and require urgent data for emergency activities like payment through the Internet, use of maps, participation in video calls, and sending critical messages. Nevertheless, it would be prudent for the customers to be aware of the compromise involved before enabling this feature.
Here are some things that you need to know before you decide to use VI InstaData:

Vi InstaData is available only for selected prepaid customers. Users must have an active eligible unlimited daily data pack with at least five days of remaining validity. Their daily data balance should also be below 10MB before the option becomes available.
The feature is not offered on unlimited voice-only plans or Vi NonStop Hero plans. Eligibility may also depend on the telecom circle, recharge history, pack type, and other internal conditions. As a result, two users on similar plans may not receive the option at the same time. The service is available across India except in Jammu and Kashmir.

Eligible customers can activate the service through the *111# USSD code or any other channel communicated by Vodafone Idea. The benefit is activated only after the customer gives consent. Once confirmed, two days are deducted from the current pack validity, and the 1GB emergency data is credited immediately for use until midnight.
